Now, a real steampunk take on Star Wars would be the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta in which

... penniless Luke (tenor) hopes to marry the fair Princess Leia (soprano), but finds himself thwarted at every turn by the evil Darth Vader (baritone) and his chorus of Imperial Bobbies...

... until, with the aid of Obi-Wan Kenobi's ghost (bass), he learns that he and Vader are actually brothers, and that the Huttese nursemaid, Jabba the Hutt (alto) misunderstood their father's wishes, apprenticing Luke to a Jedi Knight while apprenticing Vader for a Jedi night, allowing the latter to become a powerful wielder of the Force at top speeds while the former spent years impoverished and in training...

... and that therefore Luke should take Vader's place at the Empress Victoria's side and marry the Princess. Vader, no longer required to do evil but instead free to tinker with his steam-powered gadgetry, retires to Tatooine, where he marries Jabba...

... somewhere in there, they are joined by the comic duo of Han Solo and Chewbacca, who do the patter song while satirizing Victorian values about propriety, and there's the requisite slight dig at Prince Albert Edward.

... and the whole ensemble joins in one last chorus of "Lapti Nek" ("Fancy Man") to go with the happy ending.
