Nov. 15th, 2012 09:42 amThat "real geek" stink from a couple of days ago?
Honestly, who are these guys? I dunno about you, but my experience has been that if you're a male geek/nerd/dweeb, and you're not a Kinsey 6, your attitude's likely to be something like; "Dude, there are actually chicks in the SCA/furry fandom/anime fandom/comic fandom/systems administration/the IM Archery Team/etc? That's awesome." (If you're Gay, you're probably pretty cool with the idea of women hanging around, since it's been established you're not suddenly going to catch TEH HET.)
Unless we're talking about "booth babes," who are obviously not geeks, but that's a little like dissing on security guards or food court workers. These are people there to do a job, enjoy the scenary and move on.
People suddenly going oh no, these women are not geek enough, is completely counter to everything I know about male human fan nature.
