Today I became acquainted with Kim Jung-Gi. I don't know much about him and how he developed his incredible abilities.

You know how, when you start drawing, you're really linear about it? You'll sketch someone's head in intricate detail and then their arms down to the last pinky and then let's say the motorcycle they're riding and so on, and if you're anything like me, the results will look like crap? And then as you get to be a better artist your brain clicks over so that you're feeling out space on paper, which looks better and usually means construction lines, a sometimes incredibly fast refinement down to a finished form?

Well, Kim does stuff like how everyone starts out but in his case it works. My guess is that he's carrying some sort of spacial awareness so completely within his skull that he doesn't feel things out on paper the way us mere mortals do, he just goes. A little like the way Mozart dumped pretty much a finished product out of his head. Ordinarily I'm a little skeptical of this idea of the talented visual artist, the person with an innately masterful grasp of space and volume but I honestly think Kim is that thing.

Here's the dude doing his thing.
