gunky food
Jul. 28th, 2014 01:26 pmAnd now the most pointless blog post you will read today!
Okay, so hotdogs are all about the snap, whereas hamburgers are ground [whatever], they're sort of mushy. Therefore what you want as a topping is complimentary as far as texture. Putting crispy stuff on hotdogs is kinda gilding the lily - Chicago style dogs are about as far as you can really push crispy, crunchy stuff like pickles and peppers and relish. But the same way burgers don't work with mushy stuff (the problem with a doughnut burger isn't conceptual, it's just kinda soft burger on kinda soft doughnut doesn't do it for me), crispy stuff works awesome on burgers.
All of this serves as a lead in to the way that kimchi is a fantastic burger topping.
