People don't know much about Etruscan society, so the theories which seem to surround this is either it was this nice lady's spear, or that it was a symbol of the bond between her and the guy whose ashes showed up in the tomb. I'd wonder about a third possibility; whether she was buried with the spear because she was a ruler and that was a ruler's symbol. If she's the queen of a pretty militaristic group of guys, why wouldn't she have a spear, no matter how often she did or didn't fight?
