As I get older, the amount of anger I feel about politics puts me more in line with Malcolm X than Martin Luther King.
Luckily for me, as I get older, I also find that the amount of anger the historical MLK felt put him more in line with Malcolm X than the cleaned up, toned-down version of King we were taught about. And if he was able to pull off still having hope, perspective and pacifism while being that angry, then there's a lot of hope there for the rest of us.
