We were talking about comics while stuck in traffic the other day. Currently my dream Marvel comics movies are;

• More X-Men, with mohawk Storm and Patrick Stewart in the Shi'ar wheelchair.
  
• Excalibur, with Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Ian McKellan as Magneto, and possibly David Tennant as Captain Britain.
  
• With no real clue how to handle the property, Marvel decides to make Alpha Flight as a Mystery Men meets Clerks, black and white film shot on location in Vancouver. I'd thought about revamping the Crossing Line story arc, with our heros saving the world when Captain America fails, and they'd hold regular meetings at Timmies over coffee, but maybe that's a little too close to Mystery Men.

David Tennant could not POSSIBLE be Captain Britian. The other Cap is just too buff. He's gotta be someone buffer then Mr. Scrawny. No, you need someone like... Oh gawd... Well, you need Cristian Bale, actually.

... That is silly, but it's true. Also, Early or Late Excaliber. If we can get Late Excaliber, than can we use Karen Gillan as Wolvesbane, then? She can do the scottish thing, I'm sure.

OOO.... Who do you get to play Moira? That would be the tough one... Moira is so important...

Hadn't thought that far ahead. I was thinking about an all-Excalibur kludge with no particular timeline so, for instance, I hadn't thought about who you could get as Kitty Pryde.

Anyway, Captain Britain is supposed to represent the true spirit of Britain, right? You can't get more spirit of Britain than someone who's played the Doctor, and "I have remarkably little body fat" also says athletic. On the other hand since we've already got Nightcrawler as the official scrawny dude, we probably would need a tank, visually.
