I mean, I think you're right, it's not *all* simple appropriation--if I didn't, I wouldn't be on this track in the first place, and yes, the lines are sometimes fuzzy. Still, it's a bit difficult to swallow when you, say, take a class in "Core Shamanism," which is entirely composed of white people being taught by a white dude (who at one point explained how he helped bring a particular tradition back to a particular indigenous culture who'd lost it).
