Jun. 3rd, 2012 01:10 pmElf Magus, Spire Defender archetype. Using a 20 point build, Str 10, Dex 17, Con 11, Int 18, Wis 10, Cha 10. Warrior of Old is an elf trait that gets you +2 Initiative, so if you really wanted to cheese out, you could take Warrior of Old and Reactionary to get +4 Initiative.
At 1st level, a Spire Defender gets Combat Expertise and Dodge instead of Light Armor proficiency, but a Spire Defender who takes Light Armor proficiency still gets to cast spells magus-style with no penalty for light armor (studded leather or a chain shirt, so basically AC 17-18 before the benefits of Combat Expertise). Not only is this a more than fair rate of exchange (Combat Expertise and Dodge fall into the realms of nice feats but not must-haves and Light Armor proficiency is a given for any melee combatant), but Dodge is one of the two pre-reqs for Spring Attack, which I think is one of the most powerful feats in the game. Spire Defenders get the nice ability to improve some kinda useful skills with Magus Arcana points while losing the ability to retrieve spells with those points, but I figure this sort of character will be using their Magus Arcana points to improve their weapon enhancement anyway.
So feats and stat increases are;
1 - Light Armor Proficiency or Combat Casting
3 - Light Armor Proficiency or Combat Casting
4 - Stat increase Dex -> 18
5 - Mobility and an extra Magus feat (Weapon Finesse since your weapon's probably going to be a scimitar or rapier anyway - crit range with a keen enhancement on your weapon is 16-20) - can use Magus Arcana points up to enhance a weapon up to +2, so for instance +1 and keen
7 - Spring Attack (+5 BAB so all the prereqs are in place)
8 - Stat increase Int -> 19
9 - Whirlwind Attack or Medium Armor Proficiency - and can use Magus Arcana points to enhance a weapon up to +3
11 - Improved Critical (so your crit range with a keen enhancement is now 12-20) and a Magus feat (Whirlwind Attack or Medium Armor, whichever you didn't take last time 'round - by this point Medium Armor probably means a breastplate of some sort, so your AC is 20+))
