Feb. 15th, 2012 07:06 amHere's the dweebiest thing I have thought about all week;
- During the First Age, Sauron was only in charge of werewolves, vampires, mists and illusions.
- During the Second Age, Sauron corrupted the Numenoreans. When Ar-Pharazon the Golden sailed under Sauron's council to the Isle of Aman to try to claim immortality, Eru reacted in a way that Sauron hadn't anticipated - by sinking Numenor instead of its navy, and by setting Aman apart from Middle-Earth. The only way you can get to Aman is through a weird bridge.
- Potentially the mere physical husk of a former Maiar could survive without its spirit. Potentially, Eru could have separated Numenor from Middle-Earth as a strange realm full of both lost Numenoreans, a few people from Middle-Earth such as hobbits, elves and dwarves, and Sauron's associated vampires, werewolves, mists, and wraiths.
- Therefore, Numenor is Ravenloft and Sauron is one of the Darklords.
