Elfquest is pretty much the game I own which I'm least likely to run ever. I can't imagine there are very many people still gaming who'd actually dig the idea of playing an elf on the World of Two Moons (the game provides lots of alternatives to playing Wolfriders). Despite that, it's a really neat game system - it has pretty simple if potentially unbalanced character generation, and a lot of fiddly but simple rules (grappling, cutting yourself loose from a net, really simple opposed rolls, etc) which really plug into the idea of telling an ongoing story (hit location for instance; the Chaosium tendency to have fairly vulnerable characters actually playing out as thematic elements).

It also reminds me of why I fell in love with/simultaneously really hated Elfquest when I was introduced to the comics.

Featuring; a big roadtrip story with discussions of cultural differences, counterproductive conservatism versus adaptibility versus extreme individuality on the opposite extreme, the effects of time-travel paradox, epic plot twists (come on, a mad half-elf/half-troll who seeks to tip or possibly restore balance?), and characters who change over time, and all taking place in a Pleistocene setting? Brilliant. Utterly brilliant.

And all of this filtered through what could be the worst traits of a 16 year old fanfic author who really liked those Anne McCaffery books from the library. Overly pretty mary-sue characters with gigantic hair, and names which could have been culled from teenage furry roleplay characters, from a standard noble savage culture, communicate telepathically with each other and with standard noble wolves, recognize their One True Love, and start poppin' out babies in a world haunted by pretty standard condemnation of human ignorance and greed.
