Jul. 26th, 2011 06:49 pmI think it would be really a lot of fun to introduce a Call of Cthulhu campaign with a roleplaying scenario vaguely inspired by PG Wodehouse, and to a lesser extent what I know about Britain between the wars thanks to Chariots of Fire and All Creatures Great and Small. Your characters would be racing motorcycles, dodging social obligations with relatives, drinking several gallons of tea, and playing tennis in England's mountains green. The most strenuous task they'd face might be soliciting funds for the University's excavations in Egypt, not that they plan to go there themselves of course, damn' hot place and one can barely get a decent shave there, what?
And then the next session I'd hit 'em with the extradimensional horrors connected to the Knights Templar exiles in late medieval Scotland, or whatever.
