Jun. 10th, 2011 09:53 amJust now, I found out that the good guys won the struggle for Queer equality.
Here's why; I really like this one radio station but I hate the DJs. They're the people society is really built for, well off white straight extroverts, who speak loudly and aren't quite as interesting as they think they are. I click to the station because nothing good's on elsewhere, and of course, they're running their mouths, instead of playing music, which in a sane world would be the default function of a radio DJ. And they're totally slamming Tracy Morgan's li'l homophobic outburst, before they go on to diss other news items.
Whoa.
I mean, these are the same guys who ragged on you for being a faggot back in grade and high school (whether you were Gay or not, didn't matter; what mattered to them was making themselves feel all cool, not your orientation). If people that average and fucking vacant think of the big obvious homophobia as bad, then we've won.*
* edit; prejudice never goes away, but there's a much subtler variety, which is a huge improvement over being horrible-outsider-of-the-month.
