I'm rewatching Alexander Nevsky, which holds up pretty well for a Socialist Realist musical with low quality recording, and which is turning out to be a really good cinematography exercise (my Russian's not that good, so I'm not getting distracted by the dialogue). That said, I get to the "Arise Ye Russian People" chunk of the movie, where the peasants are climbing out from behind the logs to eagerly join the efforts to fight the Germans, and yet all I can think is...

"Oooh, we've got some lovely filth down 'ere! OOoh. 'Ow do you do?"

At least I didn't get "I don't want to go on the cart!" during the Pskiv massacre scene. Although now I find myself imagining parts of The Fellowship of the Rings filmed in the same black and white style.

"Odno prosto nye gulayet v Mordorye!"
"Ya budu gulyat', chotya nye zhayu put'."
"U vas yest moi smichok!"
"I
moi topor!"

Trust me on this one, it's funnier in my mind...
