Oct. 17th, 2010 04:55 pmGiven that Brother Cadell is the only person who's been reduced below 0 hp multiple times in the course of the campaign so far - I figure he gains a permanent scar every time that happens - naturally I can't help thinking what else I might want to play if at some point in the future he, uh, goes to serve Iomedae directly, if you know what I mean. Initially I'd thought of a slightly unhinged dwarf barbarian or barbarian/rogue, intent on tracking down the giants - or all giants - who'd slain his clan, and wielding a captured giant's sword two-handed.
However, now that I'm looking at the Advanced Player's Guide, there are so many options. Witch sounds like a fun different take on what I enjoy about playing a cleric, and it comes with a familiar! Alchemist would let me play an unhinged gnome to the hilt. Honestly, Inquisitor sounds powerful and characterful; a good multiclass with ranger or rogue, allowing for plenty of purity seals, heavily engraved magic weapons, speaking Latin during the game, and occasional declarations that the character Is The Law. (At first level, Inquisitor characters gain the stern gaze ability, which from my understanding of 2000 AD and WH40K, means that they may have ginormous chins and a perma-frown at will.)
